Accessibility at GTA casinos

The five casinos of Toronto and the GTA publish very different amounts about access, from room measurements to nothing of their own. This page sets out who published what, venue by venue, and where the gaps are.

Who publishes what

At Pickering Casino Resort, 22 of the hotel's 275 rooms are accessible. The Arena states that its venue is accessible; seat locations vary by show, and accessible seats are sold on Ticketmaster. The operator's Casino Shuttle to Pickering is wheelchair accessible, and service animals are welcome on board.

Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto offers accessible rooms and suites: the Racetrack Accessible King, the Premium Accessible Two Queen and Accessible Corner Suites. The Theatre there describes accessible seating in the same words as The Arena. The same shuttle serves Toronto. At Great Blue Heron, the King Accessible room and the King Suite both list an accessible bathroom with roll-in showers. As checked on October 8, 2026, all property entrances there are stated as open and fully accessible.

Casino Ajax and Elements Casino Mohawk publish no accessibility details of their own, as checked on October 8, 2026. Casino Ajax answers at 1-866-445-3939, and Elements Casino Mohawk at 905-854-4053.

What applies at all five

All five casinos are run by Great Canadian Entertainment. Its accessibility policy covers its Ontario properties under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA). A person with a disability may enter public areas with a guide dog or service animal, unless another law excludes it. If staff cannot easily identify a service animal, they may ask for documentation from a regulated health professional, but not about the person's disability.

Customers with disabilities may bring a support person into all premises, subject to applicable age restrictions. They are welcome to use their own personal assistive devices. For a planned service disruption, the operator gives notice at least seven days in advance. Unplanned disruptions are announced as soon as possible, at the facility, on the operator's website, or both.

What is not published

  • None of the five casinos publishes how many accessible parking spaces it has.
  • Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto and Great Blue Heron do not publish how many accessible rooms their hotels have.
  • Step-free entrances are stated only for Great Blue Heron, and the other four venues do not publish this.

Questions

Are service animals allowed at all five casinos?

They are, under the operator's accessibility policy, which covers all five. A guide dog or service animal may enter areas open to the public unless another law excludes it. If staff cannot easily identify the animal, they may ask for documentation from a regulated health professional, but not about the disability.

Can a support person come in with a visitor who has a disability?

Yes, into all premises, subject to applicable age restrictions. Casino entry is 19+ with a valid, original government-issued photo ID plus a secondary photo ID.

Which venues publish nothing of their own about accessibility?

As checked on October 8, 2026, Casino Ajax and Elements Casino Mohawk publish no accessibility details of their own. Questions can go to Casino Ajax at 1-866-445-3939 or Elements Casino Mohawk at 905-854-4053.
